In this Indian Rabari Embroidery Workshop you'll learn how to design and embroider a 6.5cm x 6.5cm key ring using Indian Rabari motifs, circular mirrors and Rabari embroidery stitches.

 

What you'll learn in this workshop

  • How to draw a Rabari design onto fabric based on Rabari motifs.
  • How to attach a circular mirror onto fabric.
  • How to incorporate open chain stitch, button hole stitch and lazy daisy stitch into the Rabari design of your choice.
  • How to finish off the key ring with batting, tag and keyring loop.

Supplied by Presenter

  • Calico for practice stitches,
  • Coloured fabric cut and tacked into correct size,
  • Batting,
  • Material tag and key ring loop,
  • Circular mirrors,
  • Embroidery thread - various colours,
  • Needle,
  • Ruler,
  • Fabric marker,
  • Water based glue marker,
  • Scissors,
  • Pins,
  • Rabari embroidery pictures,
  • Rabari embroidery black and white motifs.

Equipment & Requirements participants must bring

  • Embroidery thread of various colours & needles - but this is not essential.
  • Most importantly, participants need to have knowledge and experience sewing embroidery stitches.
