Weaving on an Inkle Loom opens up a world of possibilities to experienced and novice weavers alike. Inkle Looms weave narrow bands which can be used in a myriad of applications, anything from guitar or bag straps, suspenders to hat bands and textile edging.

What you'll learn in this workshop

  • You will learn to warp an Inkle loom using three colours.
  • You will learn to weave on the Inkle loom.
  • You will be able to control the tension of the warp on your Inkle loom.
  • You will learn to read patterns for the Inkle loom.
  • You will see different types of Inkle looms.
  • You will learn to make heddles for your Inkle loom.

Supplied by Presenter

  • Cotton yarn
  • Shuttles
  • A spare Inkle loom on standby

Equipment & requirements participants should bring

  • Bring your own Inkle Loom if possible
  • A pair of scissors
