Creating textile jewellery from beloved bits and pieces.
Using nuno felting and laminating techniques we will magically transform fabric, fibre, yarns, buttons and/or beads that you love or hold special memory, into a piece that is uniquely yours.
What you'll learn in this workshop
- Basic wet felting techniques
- Nuno/laminating techniques
- Troubleshooting within these techniques
Supplied by Presenter
- Felting tools
- I will supply supplementary materials but the idea is to make something memorable from your unique pieces of scrap to give them new life!
Equipment & Requirements
- Sewing needle and threads in colours that match your scraps
- Scissors
- Scraps of yarn (handspun or other) that you love
- Scraps of fabric (loose weave or fine fabrics work well, but even quilting cottons can be incorporated)
- Any buttons or beads or other items that you would like to use as embellishments or as a starting point
- A towel or dishcloth to dry hands
